The Real Housewives of New York star, Aviva Dresher, calls into The Gossip Table to dish on the new season, which debuts its second episode tonight. She reveals tonight’s episode is dubbed Bookgate due to the blowup between her and Carole Radziwill over ghostwriters. But what about that leg of Aviva’s, which appears on the floor in the trailer for the season, and rumors that Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin are returning?

Speaking of fighting, Sam Champion seeks revenge on his former Good Morning America colleagues. During his debut on the Weather Channel, the network sent a bus wrapped in Champion’s face through Times Square during GMA’s broadcast. The incident is considered friendly fire but who knows in the fight for morning ratings.

Can Actors Direct? What Jason Bateman Can Learn From The Directorial Debuts Of Ben Affleck, Eddie Murphy + More

What happens when actors decide to take a stab at directing? A lot. Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford have made the transition look easy, earning accolades and Oscars their directorial work. But for others, the road is a lot less golden. See: Jason Alexander‘s little-seen For Better or Worse. No, the Seinfeld curse is not limited to television…

Arrested Development star Jason Bateman is the latest actor to step behind the camera, making his directorial debut with Bad Words. (Michael Bluth just had to one-up his family members, didn’t he?)

Having grown up in the business, Bateman is well-versed in movie-making, but admitted he’s still learning about the intricacies of directing. “You notice and you feel these things as a moviegoer but it’s another thing entirely to know how to articulate those things,” he said during a recent screening of his film at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. “I was watching this process for so long and wanted to someday earn the privilege of overseeing it.” Bad Words premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last fall and early reviews for the film are strong. It’s likely his years on sets helped him whip this project into shape, as well watching the brave ac-tors who embarked on a new challenge before him… to varying degrees of success. When it comes to actors who’ve gone on to direct feature films, who conquered a new world and who proved he or she should stay in front of the camera? And what can John Slattery and Ryan Gosling — who each have their directorial debuts slated for 2014 — learn from their peers? Less is more, for starters. And never, ever agree to a sequel to Daddy Daycare.

Check out our cautionary tale of actor directorial debuts, from the good (yay, Ben Affleck and Joseph Gordon-Levitt!) to the forgettable (sorry, John Krasinski) to the just plain bad.

Miley Cyrus has been anything been quiet while traveling the country on her Bangerz tour, yet new photos prove her shocking stunts are just as readily available to consume via Instagram as they are at a pricey live show. Cyrus was seen rolling a joint — with Bangerz-branded rolling papers! — in the studio with Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne in a photo the latter posted to his Instagram account. “Yup…… Recordin with Miley… High as fuck….” read Coyne’s caption. The duo’s studio adventures also included diamond vomit, Beatles covers and Miley nail art, so… be jealous.

The Game of Thrones season premiere is two weeks away but Madonna showed off her devotion to Daenerys Targaryen by dressing like the character for the Jewish holiday of Purim. Forget what the POTUS is watching — we want to explore Madge’s DVR! Kendall Jenner solidified her model status by raving about her “Calvins” and Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson expanded his brand by visiting the set of the Entourage movie, playing the straight man to the delightfully imbalanced Johnny Drama (in viking uniform?). Nicki Minaj went on yet another Instagram dump while on the set of her upcoming “Senile” video and controversial Bachelor couple Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell posed for a photo during their first official post-reality show date. But whose Dominican Republic wedding were they attending?!? Help us, Chris Harrison.

St. Patrick’s Day and its boozy festivities may help to cure our Monday blues, but there’s still tons of news to catch up on from the weekend. To see what Miley is doing to her body now and what you may have missed from the ‘gram this weekend, check out our roundup above.
