Kendall and Kylie Jenner are taking Mexico by storm, Mila Kunis reveals how she and Ashton Kutcher keep their love life interesting, and Anchorman 2 is going back to the big screen.

  • After last year’s tumble during the Academy Awards, Jennifer Lawrence has a special request for this year’s show. She wants Dior to provide her with a dress that’s “accessible for stairs.” Hey, at least she’s thinking ahead. [People]
  • Kendall and Kylie Jenner have graced the cover of Marie Clarie’s Mexico edition, and they look absolutely flawless. The teen reality stars opened up about their career aspirations, but it’s obvious they’ve already achieved stardom. [Huffington Post]
  • Even though Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are certified celebs, that doesn’t mean they have to act like superstars all the time. They’ve apparently designated special date nights when they just chill in jeans and t-shirts, even if they head out on the town. [Just Jared]
  • In an unprecedented move, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will briefly be heading back to theaters. A new version of the flick will feature dirtier jokes than the previous release, so get ready to laugh even harder than you did before. [MTV News]

Head-Scratching Oscar Upsets We’re Still Not Over

The Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and Tom Hanks were two of the most glaring omissions from this year’s list of Academy Award nominees. It was shocking not to hear Inside among the list of Best Picture nominees considering the plethora of praise it’s received, and disappointing to see Hanks boxed out after he delivered not one but two strong performances (in Captain Phillips and Saving Mr. Banks, respectively). Then again, there are plenty of Hollywood legends who don’t have a tiny gold man engraved with their name despite owning box office records or topping critics’ lists. When it comes to doling out the coveted Oscar, the Academy doesn’t always go with the popular opinion.

We all remember a bubblegum pink, pre-GOOP Gwyenth Paltrow tearfully accepting her statue for her performance in Shakespeare in Love, but do you remember that she beat out the goddess that is Cate Blanchett? Blanchett got her due in 2005 for The Aviator, and is favored to win this year for Blue Jasmine, but that won’t erase the fact that Shakespeare beat Saving Private Ryan. Brokeback Mountain fans are likely still mourning Heath and Jake’s love story’s loss to Crash, and the hundreds of critics who’ve placed Citizen Kane atop their Best Films of All-Time list likely have trouble explaining how How Green Was My Valley edged out the Orson Welles classic.

Proceed with caution: the above list may result in shaking of the head and/or fists and a disillusionment with the Hollywood machine all together. But don’t lose faith! These stars are all winners in our book–we just haven’t gotten around to casting our own Big Ang lips in gold quite yet.

Opening this weekend is the volcano epic, Pompeii, about the doomed Italian city. The film gives the story the Hollywood treatment with three-dimensional fire balls, earthquakes and Kit Harington‘s abs (if only we could touch those, but we digress). The film joins a long history of disaster films, in particular, natural disaster films. These are the ones that are not man-made (The Towering Inferno), don’t involve any sort of alien invasion (Cloverfield, The Andromeda Strain) or involve Godzilla. Instead, Mother Nature rears her nasty side and reminds humans who actually runs the Earth.

Check out our list of the greatest natural disaster flicks and then let Pompeii stars, Kit Harington and Emily Browning, prep you for the worst.
