Then you’re certainly in for a treat today as it’s time for the Storytellers slot featuring the amazing Alicia Keys, which will air today at 11 p.m. EST. We had a hell of a time trying to decide how to fete Alicia as there are so many ways to do it. What we finally decided on was to focus on three very important aspects all at once! Y’all know how the singer’s fashion, hair and beauty sense has evolved over the years, but we noticed how all three changed in tandem with each other. We’ve got a gallery below, filled with 50 examples that stretch back all the way to 2001, to show how her look has moved forward in a most symmetrical manner. For instance, a decade ago, she had the braids with a touch of earth mother and a touch of hip going on. So, lots of boot-legged pants, pointed boots, ethnic touches like the fabric on her jackets or in her jewelry, with deeper colors in her makeup. That evolved to spaces like 2006 award shows where she started wearing sexy gowns and did her hair up to show off bronzed skin, gleaming lips and cat eyes. 2012 is where the hair is bobbed and the fashion is minimal but very sexy with pops of color like bright pink lips or interesting shoes. The one thing that’s never changed is Alicia’s love for experimenting — with her style, hair and makeup — and that’s what we love about her!
VH1 Storytellers is highlighting three amazing ladies in three days, beginning with Taylor Swift on Sunday; Alicia on Monday, at 11 p.m. EST; and wrapping up with P!nk, on Tuesday at 11 p.m. EST.

In case you didn’t believe us yesterday when we told you that Warm Bodies should be one of your next obsessions, we present to you the trailer of the movie, starring Nicholas Hoult (a.k.a. Jennifer Lawrence’s partner in Cheeto-eating) as the most lovable walking dead you’ve ever met. He may do for zombies what Anne Rice and Stephenie Meyer did for vampires: turn their rotting flesh into the object of our desire. Well, OK, R is not THAT sexy right off the bat, but trust us, he grows on you. We were already looking forward to the movie after reading the book, by Isaac Marion, but now this trailer has us hyped about a few other things. Namely:
- The great juxtaposition of R’s internal dialogue and his moaning outer one.
- Rob Corddry as R’s womanizing undead buddy M.
- The fact that M’s humorous scenes are helping erase the trauma of last week’s Walking Dead.
- John Freaking Malkovich as Julie’s dad.
- Dave Franco as Julie’s dead dead ex-boyfriend Perry. Why isn’t Dave in all of the things yet?
- Analeigh Tipton — who cracked us up in Crazy, Stupid, Love. — as Julie’s wisecracking friend Nora.
Julie herself, played by Teresa Palmer, is still something of a blank slate in this trailer. But maybe that’s because we’re meant to fall in love with her right along with R?

Oh good, we can stop picturing Kirstie Alley and John Travolta having hot Scientologist sex now. Oh, wait, that image is already burned into our heads forever, even though Alley says it never happened. And actually, she never DID say it happened, even though the second we all saw quotes about her Look Who’s Talking co-star being the “greatest love” of her life, that’s what we assumed. Actually, she told Jimmy Kimmel last night, their relationship was never sexual, nor was her loving friendship with Patrick Swayze.
“Can I just clarify? They were not sexual affairs,” she said. “I didn’t say the word affair ever. … John Travolta is and has remained one of my best friends for almost 25, 26 years — before he was married, but I was married. But I fell in love with him.”
Actually, she said the feeling was mutual, and it evolved into a “beautiful friendship” between her, John and his wife, Kelly Preston. She even got their blessing to write about all this in her book (the reason she’s doing all these weird interviews), The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine al Dente).
What’s really interesting, however, is that she also basically confirms everything us regular people assume about every single on-screen couple: that it’s impossible for them not to fall in love IRL.
“Imagine the guy of your dreams, let’s say it’s Brad Pitt, let’s say it’s Ryan Gosling,” she explained to Kimmel. “And you go away and you make a movie with him for four to six months, and you’re with him all day and all night, and you make out with him during the day in the movie. It’s a little hard not to confuse the boundaries.”
There you have it. Kirstie Alley, the ultimate shipper.
