CBS: Tell us about the Tom’s of Maine Silly Strawberry Story Hour on Facebook for a reading of your new children’s book It’s A Big World, Little Pig.
KY: “I was excited when Tom’s of Maine approached me to host a live story hour. I thought it was a great way to encourage a natural bedtime routine and to give parents and kids a chance to come together and wind down over a new book.
I hope many families will join us tonight. I’ll read my new book about the dreams of a little pig named Poppy and then you (or your kids!) can ask me questions. It should be fun to share a natural bedtime routine together. Plus, during the story hour, Tom’s of Maine will share a special way families can get a sample of their natural children’s toothpaste Silly Strawberry and copies of my book while supplies last.”
CBS: How can we tune in?
KY: “Just head to the Tom’s of Maine Facebook page under the Story Hour tab. You’ll see the video player all set up, simply click to join us.”
CBS: Tell us all about your new book. What inspired you to write the book?
KY: “My kids inspired me to write books. I love the time we spend reading together at night. It’s A Big World, Little Pig is a about Poppy, who is nervous to go to Paris for an international skating competition. While she is there, she discovers that her competitors, although seemingly different on the surface, are all the same at heart and a smile goes a long way.
I did draw upon some of my own experiences for this book. For instance, when I went to my first international competition, I had similar feelings of anxiety about meeting so many skaters from around the world. I quickly learned that we had so many similarities.”
CBS: Do you love to read?
KY: “I do love reading. I spent a lot of time as a child reading and it’s a joy that has stayed with me my whole life.”
CBS: How are your daughters Keara, 8, and Emma, 6, doing? What are they into? What are some of their favorite books?
KY: “The girls are at such a fun, active stage right now. They love helping me on my books. In fact, Keara actually came up with the name for the main character, Poppy the pig. Emma now says Poppy is her best friend. Kids in general have such great imaginations. It’s fun for me to hear their ideas and how they think a story should go. As for books, I think they’d probably say mommy’s books!”
CBS: Are you getting excited about the summer Olympics in London? Will you and your family be attending?
KY: “I always look forward to the Olympic Games. To this day, winning the gold medal is one of my greatest honors but I also have a lot of wonderful memories from the journey to get there. My husband and I both come from a sports background so we find it exciting to watch fellow athletes reaching for their dreams – and enjoy sharing that with our girls. We’ll be cheering on Team USA from home.”
CBS: What are your summer plans this year?
KY: “I’m looking forward to a vacation in Hawaii with the family and working on projects with my Always Dream Foundation, which supports children’s literacy. In fact, Tom’s of Maine is making a donation to it as part of this story hour event.”
CBS: What’s up next for you?
KY: “Promoting It’s a Big World, Little Pig and hopefully the launch of my clothing line.”

We really hope this story doesn’t turn out to be true.

We really hope this story doesn’t turn out to be true. RadarOnline is reporting that Tila Tequila was just released from hospital yesterday after suffering from a brain aneurysm and a drug overdose! Sources told the site that she had to be admitted last week because: “Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out.” The story gets even worse, as the source added, “Finally a friend came over after getting a strange text from her and found her convulsing on the bed. He called an ambulance and she was taken to the hospital.”
Apparently, Tila has been in two hospitals in the space of one week, because she — according to the same sources — had a brain aneurysm in the middle of the night and because of it, panicked and took two bottles of unspecified heavy prescription drugs, which led to her overdosing. She has supposedly been in the intensive care unit all week and still can’t speak properly. If this story is true, then it’s completely horrifying and we wish her all the luck with recovery.

The February cover of W magazine is like a double bonanza. Oozing sexiness on a special dual cover are Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron. Don’t they look drop dead amazing? The interviews with both stars provide interesting tidbits of information. For instance, Charlize reveals her usage of ”cutlets.” You know … bra fillers! She says, “I wear those! If you don’t have boobs, you wear those cutlets. I heard a story of a girl who was on a date, started making out, and thought, Oh, he’s going to touch the cutlets! So she went to the bathroom to take them off, but her purse was too small to put them in there. I always thought that was a funny image, a woman not knowing what to do with these things that you stick onto your boobs. It’s just the most bizarre, unsexy thing there is—so I added that to Mavis.” And indeed, Mavis, her character in Young Adult, has more than one scene featuring said undergarments.
Brad, on the other hand, talks about movies and whether or not he’s OK with watching himself die on screen. He doesn’t have a problem, it seems, as he revealed, “God, no. I’m just checking the boxes. Hit that. Missed that. Hit that moment. Missed that one. God, I’d like to do that one again.” He also talks about the one film that made him cry. Interested to know more?
